Title: Why is - x - = +?
Post by: BMC_Thunderbird on February 15, 2012, 10:33:51 PM
I got algebra this term and I dont have a clue on it at all  :-[ so might fail already

Anyway I have to answer an argument for next week as to why a negative multiplied by a negative is a positive.

Can anyone help please?

It has to be because of a law or something and not just because teacher said so.

Hmmm, I don't know. -(-a)=a is one of the basic rules of algebra right ? I don't think this is something you have to prove ... at least I my algebra class, we didnt have to.
